'One small step for man ...'

Before all the political backbiting starts, I hope we can take a few days to realize just exactly what happened yesterday.
We elected a black man as president of the United States .. no small feat for a country that featured blatant and not so blatant segregationist moments .. some of which were rather recent.
It's a truly wonderful moment in our nation's history. The next chapter comes Jan. 20 at the inauguration takes place.

It's a truly wonderful moment in history if you are a leftist extremist. Yes, there are neo-extremist on both sides.
Its just plain wonderfull if you're a Democrat tired of Bush. If you're an (Indenpendent, Republican, Libetaria), then it's not so wonderful.

Um excuse me Mr. or Mrs. anonymous but I am an independent voter who does think that it is wonderful that this great country of ours has the guts to elect a man based on his stance and platform and not based on the color of his skin. Will he be perfect? I bet not, will he be as Socialist out to take all of your money and give it to the poor? I bet not that either. But I do bet that he will be better than ole "W", which really doesn't take all that much. I for one though am willing to give him a chance, and if after 4 years of Mr. Obama he is just more of the same old same old, then I will vote his butt right out of office just like the other 120 plus million who voted in 2008. I find it funny that you hide behind "anonymous" when you speak on behalf of Independents, Republican, and Libertarians which you spelled 2 out of 3 wrong. Why don't you just come out and use your name Billy Bob? or is it Sarah?
